Susan Pettijohn is an inventor and a caregiver for the elderly
BEND, OR, December 30, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ms. Susan J. Pettijohn, Inventor of the Clutch Buddy, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in her career.
As the inventor of the Clutch Buddy, Ms. Pettijohn has patented her product and is waiting for it to be introduced to the marketplace. The Clutch Buddy is a deceleration warning system for manual transmission vehicles that activates brake lights to warn following vehicles that the car is slowing down between seven and 10 miles per hour. Ms. Pettijohn is confident that her product could save lives if implemented in new vehicles and it would only cost approximately five cents to install.

For the past five years, she has worked for the state of Oregon as a caregiver. Ms. Pettijohn assists seniors in their homes and incorporates her sign language skills into their care as well.
She attributes her success to her determination. Ms. Pettijohn completed coursework at the Indian Valley campus of the College of Marin, and is certified in medical billing and coding. In 2000, Ms. Pettijohn received a Gold Medal for achievement in the auto industry at the Impex Invention Show, for the Clutch Buddy. She volunteers her free time to Christmas Valley Boosters.
