Laderman joined Barry University in 2003 after spending eight years with Nova Southeastern University, first as its sports information director (1995-99) and then as associate director of public affairs, marketing and advertising (1999-2003).
His career began as a sports writer and columnist for the now-defunct Community News from 1987-95. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities earned at Nova Southeastern University and an Associate Degree in Journalism earned at Broward Community College (now Broward College). Mr. Laderman is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the American Marketing Association.
He has received nine national awards for marketing/advertising and publication/design, seven Florida Press Association journalism and photography awards, three conference and region administrator of the year awards, and two awards for excellence in media relations.
At Barry University, he leads a team that is charged with promoting Barry University's image and brand. Barry University is the second-largest private, Catholic university in the Southeast. It offers more than 100 bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs at its main campus in Miami Shores, Florida, and at sites throughout the state.
