Cambridge Who's Who Names Brenda Dixon Professional of the Year in Business Development and Finance

BOISE, ID, January 27, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Brenda Dixon, Deputy Director of the Americas Tax Initiative of Deloitte LLP, has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Business Development and Finance. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

With 24 years of experience at Deloitte, Ms. Dixon has focused on continuous improvement to propel the success of her company's global operations. She is currently responsible for overseeing the operational execution and leadership support of tax initiatives throughout the US, Canada and Latin America. Over her tenure with Deloitte, Ms. Dixion has teamed with other leaders throughout the world to improve global operations with regard to information technology, finance, accounting, communications, marketing, and talent. By bringing the right people, with the right skills and tools at the right time, she has been able to bring value to the people she works with, her clients and to her organization.

Ms. Dixon began her career with Touche Ross in 1987 as a shared audit and tax staff professional. In the course of her career, she has worked throughout North America, Sourth America, Europe, and Asia. In addition to her client service role as a practice leader for the International Assignment Services group in both Boise and Houston, she has played a key role in many of Deloitte's strategic initiatives from client solutions to global expansion. Beginning in 2002, she served for three years as chief of staff for the Asia Pacific Regional Tax Practice in Hong Kong. During her term, the Asia Pacific Tax practice increased their number of client service professionals, grew practice revenue, and raised Deloitte's overall market position. In 2004, Ms. Dixon accepted the chief of staff role for the company's U.S. India operations, where she worked with other leaders to expand the organization from 600 to more than 10,000 employees in three cities in India. She attributes her success to her commitment to continuous improvement and ability to accept criticism and change.

Ms. Dixon received a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and finance from Idaho State University. In addition to her formal education, she is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Idaho Society of Certified Public Accountants, Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and Executive Women International. In years to come, Ms. Dixon plans to broaden her global exposure through maximizing peoples' strengths and minimizing their weaknesses.
